The Golden Foodie Awards (GFA’s) is the ultimate Orange County culinary celebration of the year. It’s an exciting black tie, red carpet experience, with scrumptious pre-ceremony eats from the counties best restaurants, featuring a sumptuous selection of wine and the best signature cocktails you’ll taste.

The spectacular culinary awards show follows the premier tasting reception and will be hosted by Food Network star Simon Mujumdar. Trophies are presented to the most popular, independent restaurants, for best cuisine and libations, nominated from the diverse array of categories, with many of the county’s best chefs being honored, as well as other culinary notables.

The fun-filled adventure continues at the after party with dancing, more cocktails and a casino night to round out an evening that will be long remembered. “Orange County is an incredible culinary community; our vibrant dining scene is ever expanding. Food has this incredible power to connect all of us and the Golden Foodie Awards really celebrates that,” said Pamela Waitt, creator and coproducer of the Golden Foodie Awards. “Today, foodies from around the nation, look to our chefs and bartenders as they re-interpret classic dishes and libations, as well as craft bold new concepts that spice up menus across the country.”

Attendees have the fate of the winners in their hands as they vote democratically for their favorites over a three-week period to determine who will be the top People’s Choice Food Award-winners. Winners of this highest honor in the culinary world will be announced on Sunday, September 25.

Local food enthusiasts are invited to vote for their culinary favorites for The People’s Choice Food Awards from Monday, August 1 through Sunday, August 21, with nominees announced at the end of each voting week. Comprised of 24 categories, the food-loving public is tasked with voting for the region’s “best of the best’ independently owned and chef-driven restaurants.

The top three in each category will be announced and the individual or restaurant with the most votes at the end of each voting week will be the winner and announced at the awards gala.

The Golden Foodie Awards take place at the fabulous Fairmont Newport Beach, which is nestled in the center of coastal Orange County. Because the drinks will be free flowing, organizers highly recommend that you reserve one of the sleek rooms.
